I'm such an ignorant dork: how do you take icons? And what's the difference between a base and an icon? and how do i make icons??

Right click and save to take an icon. When you take it, make sure you save it with the creator's username and then credit the creator by entering their name into the keywords in the manage user pictures section.

A base is a textless icon that is used to make other icons with text. Its basically the building block of an icon.

To make icons, resize your picture or crop it to 100 x 100. Then add text. Paintshop Pro is the most commonly used graphics editing software.
